The first WordCamp Tokyo was held in 2008. Our WordCamp is getting bigger every year and last year more than 1,100 people came to WordCamp Tokyo 2013. Now WordPress has the top share of a contents management system in Japan.

This year we set the slogan “Talk together about the future of WordPress”. We appreciate we already got great books, studying group, online forum and developers of plugin and theme in Japanese community. We would like to try to discuss about what we can do next at this WordCamp.

Keynote speech “WordPress as an application platform” by Joey Kudish
This developer-oriented presentation will focus on explaining what an API is in the context of WordPress and why you should care about them. We’ll explore the different APIs available within the WordPress ecosystem, including the WordPress.com & Jetpack REST API as well as the proposed WordPress Core REST API. We’ll also touch upon some of the surrounding developer ecosystem. Time allowing, the presentation will include a Q&A where attendees can ask questions about APIs, general WordPress development and Automattic.
“W███████S” by Noel Tock
WordPress has long evolved from just being a blogging platform. It’s capable of being an integral part of any of your web ideas and concepts, regardless how abstract. In this talk, Noel will present his ideas on how we should stop blocking ourselves with design stereotypes and be limitless in our use of WordPress.
The talk will also discuss Happytables and the API obviously.
